MEMORIAL GALLERY SEEKS ART
FOR THE INTERNET
Website to show the work of deceased American artists
Los Angeles, CA - The Memorial Gallery of American Art, a non-profit
virtual gallery at the address: www.mgaa.net.
The Gallery is dedicated to showing, on the Internet, the work of 20th and
21st century American
artists and craftsmen who are no longer living.
"Many of these artists were internationally known, while others did not have the opportunity to reach a world wide audience
during their lifetimes, "says Gallery director Elena Canavier. " The Memorial Gallery aims , through its
web site, to bring public attention to the very rich cultural legacy left to us by the
artists of our times. In this way, we hope to help in the preservation of the works of art."
Opening with the work of two Southern California artists: Robert Chuey, noted in the 1950s
for his genre paintings of kitchen utensils and later in the '60s for his abstracted
landscapes, and John Giordano, an "outsider art" painter of religious subjects,
oceanscapes and pristine still life arrangements, the Gallery is in the process of adding
more artists to its exhibition site.
The Gallery is now looking for the work of artists, who are no longer living, for
inclusion in its on-going Internet exhibition. Anyone owning work by a deceased artist, or
the owner's authorized representative, is invited to enter photos of the work for possible
inclusion in the exhibition. Work in all media is welcome. A panel of art professionals
reviews the entries to ensure artistic quality and that a broad and diverse range of art
is included. At this time there are no fees charged to participate in this exhibition. The
Gallery takes no commissions on sales that may result from the exhibition and forwards all
inquiries about the work to the exhibitors.
